IMPORTANT WRITING ESSAYS WITH ANSWERS FOR IELTS

1.When a country develops its technology, the traditional skills and ways of life die out.It is pointless to try and keep them alive. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

SAMPLE ANSWER:

Traditions are the heart and soul of a country's culture.Traditional skills are the building blocks of civilization. These are the skills which are developed automatically to suit the needs of the people. It has been well said that necessity is the mother of invention. The same holds true in the case of traditional skills as well.

When people want to accomplish same task, they develop their own method of doing it and it is this invention that takes the form of a skill. These skills are inherited by people from one generation to the other.Along the way, sometimes due to technological developments or neglect or lack of interest by the young people ,these skills die out. They dry up on the hot sands of time. These skills then no longer attract the people. These craftsmen have to turn from pillar to post for earning their bread and butter.

I,for sure,do not agree with the motion that as technology develops it is pointless to try and keep our traditional skills alive.Traditional skills reflect the glory of our rich culture. They remind us of the lives of the people who followed them with religious devotion. Moreover, the ideas behind the traditional skills can act as stepping stones for future inventions and researches.

For instance, weaving khadi or handspun cotton is a traditional skill of India, many people live below the poverty line.Traditional skills can help them in earning at least one square meal a day. These kills do not need much investment.

Conservation of traditional skills does not mean that we have to shield them unnecessarily.Modern technology has transformed the way we live today. It has made the most distant dreams of man come true. But in spite of all this,we must forget that traditional skills are relevant even today there are countless lovers of these skills and crafts.Whatever heights we may scale,we must not forget our roots;the traditional skills.

2.With the increase in the number of women working nowadays the major problem that is coming up is juvenile delinquency. To what extent do you agree?

SAMPLE ANSWER

There is no doubt in the fact that today's children feel more neglected as compared to the children in earlier times.Earlier it was a custom that man was the bread winner and woman was for home and hearth. She used to give more time to children.Home was the first school and values were the foremost things taught to a child by his mother.

Nowadays, with more and more women working, television has become the first school and values have taken a back seat.Everything like serials, songs, cartoons and violent movies are being viewed by today's children. Moreover, there is none at home to monitor his T.V viewing.

The mind of a child is very delicate, innocent and immature. So many thoughts enter his mind when he watches the dirtiness and criminality shown in newspaper, magazines and television.A working woman is so tired after a day's work that she has no time and energy for her child.Workplace bullying and pressures of global competition are the other factors that consume the mental energy of a woman. When the child knows that his parents are busy in their working schedules he takes the wrong path because that is the easiest path.He feels that rather than working and earning it is better to loot and earn as it involves adventure.A child does not know the consequences of crime.Drugs, drinks, casinos and gun culture are a passion for him.Books, knowledge, career, hard work and success elude him.

The only way out is that till the age of about 16 years a child should not be left all alone. He should have either his parents or grandparents to attend him and supervise him.His energies should be channelised in such a way as to ensure all round personality development.Character, ethics and morals are what he needs to be told again and again.Indoor or outdoor sports and healthy T.V viewing in the presence of a senior member of the family is very essential.

CUE CARDS ABOUT LAWS AND A THING YOU HAVE PLANNED TO BUY

1. DESCRIBE DIFFERENT TYPES OF LAWS IN YOUR COUNTRY
-Which laws people obey?
-How effective they are in maintaining law and order?
-Difference in previous and current laws?

SAMPLE  ANSWER:

There are two major categories of law in my country, criminal law and civil law.Criminal laws protect citizens of my country from violent crimes like murder, terrorism, dowry and so on.Civil laws cover offences pertaining to income tax, sales tax, traffic, company's law, and so on.Laws in country are updated from time to time and the changes are known as amendments in the law. There is a lengthy procedure for amending or creating any law at state or national level.

According to me,laws in my country are reasonably effective in maintaining law and order.I firmly believe that efficiency of law depends upon the clarity provided in its clauses and the awareness prevailing about that law in general public. Here, the support of police and the judicial courts are essential in maintaining a crime free state. Finally, we can also see many new laws are being introduced in the last few years responding to the call of the hour. Some of them are the cyber law and the domestic violence law.The former is being used to protect online privacy and safety of computer users in my country because frauds of hacking email accounts, banking accounts and credit card accounts are increasing every day.Second, the domestic violence law is introduced to protect women, children and other vulnerable members from aggressive and violent members of their own family.

In my country, I have observed that many people obey laws to live as law abiding citizens. However, there are some people who often disobey anti-piracy laws and tax laws.Unfortunately, piracy is a black label on our country. It is slowly gripping the entire music and book publication industries. Our people often 'rush' to buy cheap books and CD's just to save some money, but they do not understand that the money they pay to that pirated book or CD sellers go to the mafias operating the network and not the author or artist who had worked hard behind that book or music album. In addition, we all know that, if we financially strengthen the mafias, how dangerous they can be for our country and society.

2. TALK ABOUT A THING  YOU HAVE PLANNED TO BUY IN THE NEAR FUTURE

                      OR
TALK ABOUT A KIND OF ELECTRONIC DEVICE YOU WOULD LIKE TO BUY
-What kind of device that is?
-Why you want to buy it ?
-what kind of features you like the device to have?

SAMPLE  ANSWER:

I have always been allured by the fancy, attractive and versatile electronic gadgets. It seemed like the chase for the best electronic device is endless as a new product comes in the market almost every day.I would like to buy a new laptop for me in near future.Actually, I have been using a laptop for the last 3 years and the laptop has been serving me well till the time. However, now I need some advance features that my current laptop does not offer.I am planning to buy a laptop of IBM.I saw some laptops in the sale outlets of some companies before a few days and I short listed this brand.I need a laptop with at least 200 GB memory, 3 GB RAM and at least 4 USB ports.I saw such features in the products offered by these companies. Also, it comes with an in-built web cam, optical drive and 7 in 1 card reader. This is an important device because this enables the laptop to read memory from other sources as well. Moreover, the laptop comes with some Pre-installed software and genuine Window Vista Premium operating system. These features make the laptop even more desirable compared to other products. In spite of having all the required features, the gadget is not heavy to carry and it is very attractive.I need this laptop because I can use it while I am traveling. Many a time I need to give presentations and I also need to surf the internet. Both these functions can be easily carried out with the help of this laptop.I am planning to buy this laptop in the coming festival season because companies come with attractive offers to promote their sales.I would like to take advantage of that and thus, the laptop is on the top of my buying list in this festive season. On top of it, the laptop that I liked had very elegant yet sober color and textured body. These features will certainly distinguish me when I give a presentation in front of my business associates.

Children are very important for their parents.Today's children are our future leaders. We are working hard and earning for our children.Children's needs, whether educative or others, are fulfilled by their parents.Parents are also anxious that their children should study hard and meet their expectation level. So they try to give them each and every comfort they need.

Some people are conservative in nature and they do not provide the required facilities to their children.which restricts the children to study or to plan their future."As you sow,so shall you reap".So,if we fail to fulfill the basic needs of our children, how can we expect better results from them?In the era of great competition, children need funds for purchasing books and other educatiinal aids like computer etc, which are not only important urgent also.

Some children are of spendthrift nature. They some times develop bad habits like smoking, drinking gambling and so on.Which ultimately ruin their lives.Sometimes, children insist on their parents for providing them money and when their demand is not fulfilled, they try to get money by bad means, like stealing, gambling and so on.

WRITING TASK 2 TOPICS FOR IELTS EXAM WITH SAMPLE ANSWER

Write about the following topic:

1.These days we see that a majority of the people are shifting from cities to villages. What are the causes and effects of the practice?

SAMPLE ANSWER

Gone are these days when people from the countryside had an attraction for the city life.Life in most of the villages was hellish. But,people today are exclaiming that life in the cities in confined are suffocating.People are in sick hurry. They have to work as slaves from dawn to desk. They are merely soulless machines.Peace of mind is a distant dream for the people in the cities.Karachi, the biggest city of the Pakistan,London, the capital of England,Beijing, the capital of China and metro cites in India like Ludhiana and Delhi are among the most congested and the dirtiest cites of the world.

Social life in the cities is not up to the mark. There are yawning gaps in the social economic structure.A modern city is a curious mixture of contraries. On the one hand there are sky scrapers,on the other hand there are the slum-dwellers who live in dirty hovels. On one hand there are aristocrats who roll in wealth whereas on the other hand there are the poor people who roll in dust for a loaf of bread.

Globalization has changed the very face of the world whether it is urban or rural.there is hardly any facility of life which is not available in the villages.People are aware of the dangerous diseases which are gifts of the modern city life.In the rural side there is fresh air and closely-knitted social fabric.Latest means of transportation and entertainment have added to the charm of rural life. Now a person who works in a city office can easily reach his residence in a village in a few minutes.He/she can avail himself/herself of all the benefits of both the styles of living.

Lastly, this shift from urban to rural is the need of the hour.It shall be in the benefit of all and sundry.

LEARN HOW TO WRITE TOUGH TOPICS IN IELTS

1.Writing task 2:

Writing about the following topic:

People now a days think that they cannot do with one job.So they do one or more jobs at a time.Do you agree or disagree with this practice?

Sample answer:

We are living in the twenty-first-century.The world is moving towards modernization. The winds of development are sweeping everywhere.Of late, people's life style has undergone a considerable change.I agree with the statement up to come extent that people cannot do without two or more jobs to maintain the higher living standard.

To cope with the rise in the prices of essential articles and to maintain better life style people have to increase their income. They often opt for two or more part-time jobs for earning more. Moreover the prices of essential requirements are rising sky high and it is very difficult for a normal person to make both ends meet.Commercialization of education and medical facilities force a person to think for more income.

Job security is another reason which comples people to think for second job.Now a days, government jobs are limited and people usually work in private sector, where chances of job security are rare.To mitigate the risk of job security, people try to keep two or more jobs in hand.

In modern era, there are many people who are professionaly and technicslly qualified. They usually try to encash their skills upto the optimum level. So they do more than one job even at far flung places.

There is also another side of the coin.Too much work makes us tired and we are left with hardly anytime for our family.

IELTS WRITING TASK 2 WITH SAMPLE ANSWER

1.write about the following topic:

Modern children are suffering from those diseases which were once considered to be meant for the adults only.Obesity is a major disease prevalent among children. what are its causes? Discuss its remedies too.

Sample answer:

Everybody has a picture of a child being slim, active and physically fit. But it is the tragedy of the modern era that the children of today are suffering from obesity and other problems which are generally related to the people in their thirties. Our heart aches to see school going  children very obese and sluggish.it is on duty to diagnose the problem and seek a solution for the same.

The children of today are very found of fast food and fizzy drinks. There is hardly any child who is not fond of pizza, burger, noodles, potato chips, ice cream and so on.Not only children, parents also buy confectionery items like biscuits, cakes etc. Which are calorie rich. This overdose of calorie rich diet followed by almost zero physical exercise is mainly responsible for this serious problem.

The earliest joint family system has failed giving birth to nuclear families.Family income has increased considerably.Parents now have either one child or at the most two. They are over indulgent regarding the diet on their children. However, they forget that they should be equally worried about the physical exertion of their children. The end result is that fat deposits in their body which multiplies with their sedentary life style. It would not to wrong to say here that care kills the cat.

Many a time we see that children do not have any time for outdoor games. They are crushed under the weight of studies. They only play indoor games. In fact, sports grounds are not easily available in the cities. In the way we can not hold only children responsible for their obesity.

We have to take some steps in the regard.Outdoor games must be encouraged. In Canada fast food are banned in the some schools;natural juices and porridge are allowed.

2. Write about the following topic:

Modern youth is treading the path of fast life which has given birth to life wedded to crime. What are the causes of violence among the youth and what can be done to check it?

Sample answer:

There is no denying the fact that modern inventions and discoveries of science and technology have brought a tremendous change in our life style. But they have given birth to many serious problems. The modern youth is becoming over ambitious which has lead to a tendency to commit crime among the adolescents. This tendency among the young boys and girls is called juvenile delinquency.Juvenile delinquency is increasingly becoming a major problem in our country.Everyday we read or watch or hear about crimes committed by young people who are either in their teens or in their twenties. Many of them have virtually taken to a life of crime and organized themselves into gangs.Quite often they are involved in such crimes as thefts and murders.Any dispassionate analysis of the problem will, however, reveal that not one but many factors are responsible for this miss.

The principle villain is the current economic situation in the word. Most of the parents are busy in their daily struggle for economic survival and independence. Many mothers have to work in offices, schools, colleges and other work places to augment the meager family income.Modern parents have no time for their children who naturally feel neglected. This lack of parental love and care creates a vacuum in the lives of the adolescent children and hence they resort to some kind of adventure to fill this vacuum.Secondly, wide spread unemployment holds little hope of a successful career for younger people.By studying hard and observing all the accepted norms, they doubt whether they can achieve anything in life. This fear and uncertainty of the future compels many to look for easy gain and shortcut to success.

The mass media, specially newspapers, magazines, films and T.V serials also play their role in encouraging the young people to take crime. Many films provide a heavy dose of crime, violence and sex.

Keeping in view all these reasons of violence among the youth,we must do something to check this cancer which is eating into the vitals of our society. What is needed is a concerted effort to attack this increasing problem from all sides. We have to provide not only time but also love and care to the young people who are really rejected.

It was a one year certificate course that offered a complete knowledge for those who wished to learn computer applications in order to get a job in the relevant industries. It was actually a vocational course aimed at employment . I did that course because i was interested in computers and wanted to learn it in some depth.I did not want to purse my career in that field at that time but the possibilities of the usage of computers inspired me to learn it.I did it at AK, a company teaching computer applications and software development. It opened a new training center in my area that time. I went there to collect the information for their training courses and i found that the facilities, services and quality of teaching that they were offering at that time was extremely good. Moreover, their fees were also reasonable for the course that i wanted to do.
