OCTOBER IELTS EXAM WRITING TOPICS WITH ANSWERS

1. STUDENT BEHAVIOR HAS BECOME  A MAJOR PROBLEM IN THE WORLD TODAY.WHAT ARE THE CAUSES AND SOLUTIONS OF THIS PROBLEM?

Sample answer:

Students are a nation's future. For a country to have a bright future,it is very important that the students be given proper education which will inculcate in them the highest moral values Lessons learned in the school should act as a building block of student's attitude towards life. There was a time when school was given a holy status by students and parents. It was considered to be the temple of learning. But the attitude of the students and parents has undergone a sea change in the recent years.

The schools all over the world are facing a tough time in handling a sudden change in the students behavior.Student are becoming increasingly irresponsible. They are more inclined towards showing off their latest possessions while studies have taken a back seat. They are very proud of their latest cell phones, bikes, gadgets and trendy dresses. It is a bitter fact that many students have never visited their schools libraries. They prefer spending most of their free time sitting in the canteens or cafeteria. They are increasingly becoming short-tempered.

There are many reasons of this changed behavior of the students. The cut-throat competition and the fear of lagging behind in this rat race makes them look for ways to achieve instant success.Pressure from parents to fulfill their desires is also patent reason. Many times the students are made scape goats to satisfy the career-craze of their parents.Their own ambitions and aspirations are buried deep under the expectations of their parents. It is but natural that their pent up feelings explode one day making them rebellious. So,the violence an easy way to let out their frustrations and anxieties.

The sudden rise of the middle class has also important part to play .They take all the luxuries of life for granted and if any body denies these things ,they challenge that person.
In order to solve this problem, parents should spend some time in the company of their children.Regular counselling should be made available so that the students.Parents should spend some time in the company of their pent up feelings. In this way we can ensure a better tomorrow for young, building minds.

2. SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT ATTENDANCE SHOULD BE COMPULSORY IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS.OTHERS BELIEVE THAT IT SHOULD BE OPTIONAL WHICH OF THESE TWO IDEAS DO YOU SUPPORT AND WHY?

Sample answer:

Educational institutions are the temples of learning which demand a sacred attention by the teachers and the taught.Countrywide classrooms,on-line lessons and web-conferences have been introduced and they have registered their importance but there is no substitute of real classroom education.I disagree to a great extent with the proposition that attendance in the educational institutions should be optional.

We see that in the classes up to senior secondary level the students are not so mature and responsible. If there is optional attendance in the schools, the students would like to miss the classes. They will be easily led astray by the antisocial elements. We know it well that adolescent age is prone to bad and immoral activities. They will suffer from juvenile delinquency.

There are some subjects which can be taught in a sequences. One chapter is inseparable from the other. If a student comes one day and misses the class the other day,it will not be possible for him/her to follow the teacher. Moreover,a student learns a lot through interaction with the teachers and other students.He/she learns better by rubbing  his/her shoulders with others.Attendance is an impetus for competition among the students. This sense of competition is not visible in other ways of teaching and learning.

Attendance in the educational institutions gives birth to some great virtues like discipline,patience,co-operation and co-existence.These virtues cannot be learnt in isolation,Great leaders, thinkers and scholars owe a lot to their Alma mater.
