CUE CARDS ABOUT LAWS AND A THING YOU HAVE PLANNED TO BUY

1. DESCRIBE DIFFERENT TYPES OF LAWS IN YOUR COUNTRY
-Which laws people obey?
-How effective they are in maintaining law and order?
-Difference in previous and current laws?

SAMPLE  ANSWER:

There are two major categories of law in my country, criminal law and civil law.Criminal laws protect citizens of my country from violent crimes like murder, terrorism, dowry and so on.Civil laws cover offences pertaining to income tax, sales tax, traffic, company's law, and so on.Laws in country are updated from time to time and the changes are known as amendments in the law. There is a lengthy procedure for amending or creating any law at state or national level.

According to me,laws in my country are reasonably effective in maintaining law and order.I firmly believe that efficiency of law depends upon the clarity provided in its clauses and the awareness prevailing about that law in general public. Here, the support of police and the judicial courts are essential in maintaining a crime free state. Finally, we can also see many new laws are being introduced in the last few years responding to the call of the hour. Some of them are the cyber law and the domestic violence law.The former is being used to protect online privacy and safety of computer users in my country because frauds of hacking email accounts, banking accounts and credit card accounts are increasing every day.Second, the domestic violence law is introduced to protect women, children and other vulnerable members from aggressive and violent members of their own family.

In my country, I have observed that many people obey laws to live as law abiding citizens. However, there are some people who often disobey anti-piracy laws and tax laws.Unfortunately, piracy is a black label on our country. It is slowly gripping the entire music and book publication industries. Our people often 'rush' to buy cheap books and CD's just to save some money, but they do not understand that the money they pay to that pirated book or CD sellers go to the mafias operating the network and not the author or artist who had worked hard behind that book or music album. In addition, we all know that, if we financially strengthen the mafias, how dangerous they can be for our country and society.

2. TALK ABOUT A THING  YOU HAVE PLANNED TO BUY IN THE NEAR FUTURE
-Describe the thing?
-How it looks like?
-Why you want to buy it?

                      OR
TALK ABOUT A KIND OF ELECTRONIC DEVICE YOU WOULD LIKE TO BUY
-What kind of device that is?
-Why you want to buy it ?
-what kind of features you like the device to have?

SAMPLE  ANSWER:

I have always been allured by the fancy, attractive and versatile electronic gadgets. It seemed like the chase for the best electronic device is endless as a new product comes in the market almost every day.I would like to buy a new laptop for me in near future.Actually, I have been using a laptop for the last 3 years and the laptop has been serving me well till the time. However, now I need some advance features that my current laptop does not offer.I am planning to buy a laptop of IBM.I saw some laptops in the sale outlets of some companies before a few days and I short listed this brand.I need a laptop with at least 200 GB memory, 3 GB RAM and at least 4 USB ports.I saw such features in the products offered by these companies. Also, it comes with an in-built web cam, optical drive and 7 in 1 card reader. This is an important device because this enables the laptop to read memory from other sources as well. Moreover, the laptop comes with some Pre-installed software and genuine Window Vista Premium operating system. These features make the laptop even more desirable compared to other products. In spite of having all the required features, the gadget is not heavy to carry and it is very attractive.I need this laptop because I can use it while I am traveling. Many a time I need to give presentations and I also need to surf the internet. Both these functions can be easily carried out with the help of this laptop.I am planning to buy this laptop in the coming festival season because companies come with attractive offers to promote their sales.I would like to take advantage of that and thus, the laptop is on the top of my buying list in this festive season. On top of it, the laptop that I liked had very elegant yet sober color and textured body. These features will certainly distinguish me when I give a presentation in front of my business associates.
